2.3 TAPEO - WEB TOURISM TOWN HALL OF ZARAGOZA - "Of tapas for Zaragoza". "The gastronomic offer for the part of one of the biggest attractions of Zaragoza. Bars and taverns with fantastic counters, with a great variety of products and restaurants with dishes from the Zaragoza garden, the ternasco, mushrooms and truffles put on a prestigious altar to all our gastronomy. The most representative areas of tapas are:
- Zona El Tubo: It is one of the best known and emblematic areas of the city to go for tapas. After a few years of decline, the taverns and locals of this area have managed to reinvent themselves, becoming the city's new gastronomic reference point for its varied offer and fantastic atmosphere.
- Zona Plaza Santa Marta y Plaza del Pilar: Passing under the Arch of the Dean you will end up in a small square, marked by small bars of great tradition in serving tapas. From here you can access the Square San Pedro Nolasco, crossing the Street Mayor, where more modern premises are located next to the most classic of the city. In Square del Pilar and nearby you will find market and seasonal cuisine.
- Zona de la Magdalena: In this area, especially in the Street Estudios, typical taverns that serve tables of cured, cheeses, smoked or sausages, very typical throughout Aragon. If you decide on this option, we recommend you not miss the Mudejar de la Magdalena Tower, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
- Zona Independencia: In this area you can choose between parallel and perpendicular streets to Paseo Independencia, with more bohemian and traditional places or avant-garde cuisine establishments.
- Zona Plaza San Francisco-Romareda: "Meeting places close to the University, with a wide variety of gastronomic offer in restaurants, tapas and snacks."
- Zona de San Miguel: Zone located next to the Church San Miguel to the Coso, between streets like the one of the Heorism. You can find El Mesón de la Tortilla, where you can taste all kinds of tortillas, the Cabezudos, José Luis bar..." (Miguel Ángel Vicente Val Director of gastronomic publishing house Almozara)
