THE SHORT FILM ON THE HOLY WEEK IN ARAGON
"IMMORTAL" WINS IN THE IX CANNES INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF 2018 THE
SILVER DOLPHIN AND THE GOLDEN DOLPHIN
The short film Immortal has won two awards at the IX
International Festival Cannes Corporate & Film TV: the Silver Dolphin, the
only award in the category of ethnographic and social documentaries (B22), and
the Black Dolphin, absolute prize for the best music original (D39), among all
the productions presented, belonging to the different categories. The awards
ceremony took place yesterday, September 27, at the Palm Beach Club in Cannes.
Immortal is a documentary short film that is born of the
will of the Archbishopric of Zaragoza, within its Alma Mater cultural project,
to value the Holy Week in Aragon through a production that unites people,
around emotion and passion with which is living this popular expression of
Christian faith. Immortal will debut in early 2019.
This documentary, produced by Brand in Black for the
Archbishopric of Zaragoza, has been filmed in Alcañiz, Alcorisa, Calanda,
Híjar, Samper de Calanda and Zaragoza, and shows Holy Week as a feeling deeply
rooted and rooted in our land. Immortal highlights the feelings of thousands
and thousands of Aragonese who are about to start each spring, year after year,
making possible the celebration of Holy Week, which carries implicit faith,
tradition and belonging to a territory.
With Aragonese soul
Immortal, under the executive production of Raúl Calavia and
the production of Brand in Black, has been written and directed by Javier
Jiménez, counting on the music of Lorenzo Cortés, the photography and editing
of José Manuel Fandos and the voiceover of the actress Aragonese Luisa Gavasa.
The documentary was produced with the most advanced shooting technologies,
being made in 8K.
In its production, a human team of more than 60 people
participated, during seven months of work. 95% of the professionals that have
participated in this production are Aragonese and, except for the recording of
the voice-over in a Madrid studio, all the technical means used belong to
Aragonese companies.
This is the second time that a work produced by Brand In
Black (Raúl Calavia) in collaboration with Freeman Creación Audiovisual (Javier
Jiménez) is awarded at the Cannes Corporate & Film TV. In 2016, they
obtained a Golden Dolphin in the category of Museums and Visitors Centers with
the production Alma Mater Museum, also for the Archbishopric of Zaragoza.
